  • is buying these parts a good idea?

i'm planning on ordering the following items from BMR tomorrow:
    strut tower brace
    swaybar package (front and rear)
    lower control arms
    panhard rod

when i priced them earlier this week it was going to take me 500 and some change to get these and have them shipped. my car is about as stock as can be (see my sig) what do you guys think of these upgrades?

You might want to get subframe connectors in place of the sway bars, but thats my .02 thats also if you want it for the strip. If you want it for better ride quality into corners then go ahead.

I have all on my car except the LCA's.. I have them but not installed.. with the SwayBars and Eibach lowering springs I am able to take corners like 60 mph faster then before.. The tires just stick and its freakin awesome.. I have the Sub frames on too.. they are good also but weigh a little but Are a good idea if you have T-tops.. I suggest Getting the LCA's, The 1LE sway Bars, Adj. Pan har rod, STB, and if you want the lowering springs but you will scrape alot more with them but the car will handle alot better and will look sweet as hell.. If you get the Springs they have this deal at Thunderracing its like 330.00 for the springs, Adj PHR, and LCA Relocation Brackets, then if you get that package you can just get the sway bars and the LCA's.. I didnt notice anything with the STB..

i suggest goin w/ the chrome-moly stb cuz it'll add less weight to your car, yet stiffen it up just as much. swaybars are great choices. lca's, u might wanna get adjustable ones, or relocation brackets to increase traction. I don't think you'll need a panhard rod yet, and instead i'd switch that w/ sfc's so that your chassis is stiffened up even further. if u have the cash to get everything including the sfc's, do it. it'll handle a lot better than b4 and you'll get better traction off the line.

If you're into cornering - don't get the LCAs. if you want to change those, get some from provenperformanceconcepts.com or LGMsports.

The swaybars from BMR are also a ripoff as they really are not better, only heavier, than the 1LE units. I recommend going with the cheaper and plenty effective 1LE units if you think you need an upgrade.

hey dominic, i looked at the provenperformanceconcepts.com and that stuff looked cool, but the lightened stuff is pretty expensive. the bmr stuff is so cheap. why do you think that i shouldn't get the lower control arms if i'm into cornoring? i tried to find lgmsports, but couldn't. do you have a website? where do i find 1LE parts? i hear a lot about them and i don't really know what they are. also, other then the weight of the bmr stuff is there any other real drawback? thanks

www.LGmotorsports.com if LG's website. the BMR bars are solid and weight a lot mroe than the stock or even 1LE swaybars. You can get the swaybars from www.LMPerformance.com. for cornering, rod ended lca's are the best since there is no bind, but quality rod versions are upwards of 200 bucks. poly ended ones are great for drag racing, but don't help cornering. swaybars, springs, phr, and torque arm will help cornering also.
