• heavy wheels?

Is 25 lbs heavy for a wheel? I figured the new z06s would weigh more than the salad shooters but for some reason this doesn't sound too heavy to me... Oh and btw, I haven't gotten them yet (they are on the way to my house as i type, read that on ups.com) but I was looking at the shipping stuff and there are 2 packages at 50lbs each so I figured 25lbs per wheel. Is that heavy or average?

There's probably a few pounds of box and packing material.

Stock salad shooters weigh around 19 pounds each. Factory 17" SS wheels weigh around 21 pounds each.

Did you get 17" or 18" Z06 wheels? Did you get GM or replica wheels? Cheap replica wheels are usually heavier.

So you gained 4 lbs per corner which comes to 16 extra lbs of rotational mass which makes you about 1.6 slower in the 1/4. Thats the main reason I got rid of my 18's.

1.6 seconds? your saying that adding 16 pounds will add 1.6 seconds, but removing 100 pounds only increases by .1 im missing something here.

Rotating mass is 10 lbs. Vs 100 Lbs. dead weight.

He typed it wrong. 100lbs static weight is worth .1 generally, so if 10lbs rotating weight equals .1, then its .16. Thats believeable. My rear draglites weighed 14lbs a piece and the fronts 24lbs with tires!

just save your stockers for the track.

Static weight sorry, and like I sais thats why I ditched my 18's. I didn't want to beat someone on the track and then lose on the street.

                        Yeah .16 not 1.6 lol.

Exactly... Have you guys seen me with Zr1s at the track before? I swap them out everytime I go, I use the zr1s on the street and autocross.

this is why forged rims rule. get a ZO6 rim's dimensions while having it weight a couple lbs. less than the stock rims size, reducing overall weight, even tho gaining more weight in rubber.
