Steering problem

My 3.4 is making this grinding sound when I make a turn.
Well today I was driving and I was going to make a turn and couldent because the steering wheel was real stiff. I checked the power steering fluid and its were its suppose to be.
What could it be? :(

have someone turn the wheel while you have the hood popped. Should be easier to track down where exactly the noise is coming from.

Sounds like the pump burned out somehow. If it was filled with fluid prior to your problem, then I have no idea why it would crap out like that.
