and i like it! ...so far. it dropped the car to a really nice heighth. i can get some pics up if you guys want to see it. but if not, then i posted just to say that it's a pretty decent mod. i have 2 sets of springs, so if i find anything i don't like about it, and somehow my springs get screwed over (pun intended) then i'll just switch them out. i think it's gonna be alright though. went to home depot and bought the braided heater hose and wrapped it completely around the tip of the spring, and then duct taped each end and just put them in there. worked well

how much of a drop did you see? also, don't you have 17x11 TT2 rear wheels? if so, does it look like they'll rub at any point in the rear wheelwell or on the outer lip of the fender?

These are the only topics I could find about this free mod, and it doesn't convince me that is is a good idea. I would kinda like to hear updates on this, because I would do it if it was as widely accepted as a "good free mod" as the
!FRA .

eh, you can think it's dumb if you wish. however, you have to keep in mind that the only purpose those rubber things serve is to keep the metal to metal noise at a minimum. with hosing, that spacing still takes place, just a lot less of it. do what you want though, who knows, my car may fall apart tomorrow.

probably close to an inch, maybe a bit less. i don't have TT2's, sorry, i just have stock 16" chrome rims.

I don't think it is dumb. I just would like to see it more evidence of it being safe, maybe this post will get the attention of redbird00 and andrew N. for a year and six month update.

doesn't look like too much of a drop to me, maybe .75"-1". i'd rather get new springs just cuz of the better handling properties, but u probly handle better than u did cuz of a lower center of gravity.

Looks good, about the same result i got from cutting one coil off. Have you noticed any more wheel hop than before? Thats pretty much the only downside ive noticed from cutting my springs. I think the lowering changes the geometry of the lcas and may cause this.... whats your experince?

He shouldnt see any more wheel hop than before... HE didnt cut his springs... So, he still has the same spring rate, the spring is the same length, just sits closer to the car.

Looks alright, pics are kinda dark. Your car sat high to begin with, I can see why you would want to do that.

its good to see the mod bug still has a hold of you evan... yeah i did this a loooong time ago, and no problems, no weird noises... no problems with traction or wheel hop because i have the bmr lca's and relocation brackets... and this car is my daily driver, some days i take it easy and sometimes i drive like a bat out of hell... but i think its about time to see how the garden hose is holding up? if you have any questions lemme know redbird00@hotmail.com

there are some things that the "mod bug" must fix, and uneven car is definetely one of them.
