    remember this?

:( well i got a new PHR and i had autoshop at my school install it. They did that and also moved my sway bar back into place, and took the tire off of my old front wheel and put it on my new one. but here is the bad news....

they found more stuff wrong with the car. I need new LCA's, left rear axle, and left rear drum brake cylinder and backing. I know they are not bs-ing because they get no advantage out of it (its free labor and i am buying the parts).

So roughly, how much would this cost used? and what would the price difference be to just buy a Z28 rear axle and disc brakes?

    Any Other suggestions/ tips?

k found speedautomotive.com, i heard alot of ppl get entire rear ends for about $300 from them. does that include the rear axle, and maybe LCA's? even if it doesnt include LCA's, how much custom work is needed to make it fit on a 3.4L?

Thought that you might have bent the axle. With all that you said is wrong you may want to invest in a entire new rear axle with brakes and the works. If you start trying to piece together the parts you will most likely run over the price of a good replacement axle in tact.

I found the real axle shaft from Cal. for around $140 bucks. But that was just for the axle shaft only. You could probably get a complete new rear with everthing for $300-$400.

      just my 2 cents....

sorry for the bad news, but I knew it looked like a pretty hard hit....

all i need according to the autoshop kids, as far as the axle goes, is a "left rear axle" as they put it. i called speedautomotive, they said $50+shipping. I'll prolly order that tomorrow. I am in the process of getting the LCA's for 20 shipped. now im just on a hunt for the drum brake. And the rear end of a Z28 is about $300. so im figuring thats more than twice as much. If i had money i would just get the Z28 rear, but im really strapped right now. bah. so ill do this for now prolly. maybe in a few months do the disc brake conversion....

          Hey Chris,
Email me if you need any drum brake parts. I still have my whole drum rear in my garage collecting dust, including one good rear axle (28 spline). Lemme know if you need something.

Sound's like you have a good deal. Free labor means alot...!!! I say go for it...!! You found the axle cheap so looks like you are all set.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out....
