  • Cutting take-off V8 springs?

I'm a cheap bastard okay? Rather than spend $500 on a set of H&R's and AGX's couldn't I use a set of cut V8 springs and achieve the same effect?

The rears aren't much different, but the front spring rates are 50lb/in more than the V6 springs. Anyone tried or think it's safe to cut say 1/2 a coil off the V8 set?

Bad idea. First cutting off springs is not recommended by anyone. Second, you will have some problems with rubbing fenders with you tires. Lowered springs are stiffer for a reason...and I don't mean stiffer like 50lbs in the front.

let me be the first of many to say
      "DON'T CUT SPRINGS"!!!!!!

they are heated and coiled for a precise weight/other stuff.. cutting these would unbalance everything,

there was a long discussion on this a long time ago, might be worth a search,
