I just got a set of MAC lowering springs the mail the other day ($160 - good deal?) that will drop my car about an inch an a half. I have heard it is better to replace both the springs and the shocks at the same time, cause the stock shocks wont handle the drop.
What are some good shocks for that kind of drop?
I am a reletive suspension newbie so go slow!
You should really get Bilsteins or HAL shocks. Both are expensive, so in the mean time I'm getting some take-offs from SLP ($50) and will be using those till I get some more cash.
The cheapest aftermarket good shocks are Bilstiens and the lowest I found them for is $299.00 for all four at www.shox.com
Hope this helps. My car is lowered, but I just can't afford the shocks right now.

Not at all, I love the ride (but I also have shocks, LCA's and a torque arm on the way this week)
the ride isn't bad, but not what it could be. I wish I had replaced shocks when I was doing the springs cause then I wouldn't have to do the EXACT SAME work as before. Just a waste of time on my part. Plus my shocks have had it with me, they're starting to squeak a little--kinda annoying.

I have the money to put the springs on today
but if it would be better to wait and replace the shocks with the springs then I will.
yeah man personally I'd hold off and do them both at once.. go ahead and get the springs.. put them in the closet till you can afford some shocks.. and then do them both at once..
