  • MAC 1.5" Lowering Springs

I put some on today! Got a great deal from a friend of mine that works for Krazy Kustomz on labor (30 bucks and a six pack!!!!)
I can feel a difference in driving - seems like the car takes potholes and bumps a *bit* better.
However, the car itself doesn't look much lower to the ground.
I'm thinking if/when I put on some 17" Wheels and some 255/40-45's it might look a bit lower?
Am I wrong in assuming this?

I just contacted TNA Motorsports (where I purchased the springs) and they informed me that the case with these springs is it sometimes takes a week or so for them to settle down.
    Does this sound right?
    Are all springs like that?

Yea, you gotta give it time to settle. I've had my springs for a little over a year now and they settled another 1/2 inch or so.

Thank you shortdog, I was really sorta getting pissed.

Most companies have different spring rates. Yours might settle less or more than mine. I'm not too sure on that note. Did you measure your wheelgap before and after the installation?

you won't have a big drop w/ those springs. i had them on my car and it only dropped 1''. no one could tell it was even lowered, so i bought the v6 h&r springs from RKSport. those dropped me a lot more.

I know my sprint springs lowered the car my alot. Around 2" in the front and 2.5" in the rear. With my factory 16s, there is NO wheel gap at all. My 18s have about an inch of wheel gap all around due to my tire size. Triad, I don't know much about mac springs, but there are a dozen companies out there that makes lowering springs for our car now with a better drop than you want.

Like a dumbass I didn't measure, but I am running my factory 16's and there is still about an inch (maybe a bit more) of wheel gap left and the springs have been on a day. I am going to measure it today and watch it for about a week, if they do not begin to settle down I am taking them off.

And what does Progressive Rate mean?

Progressive rate springs, lowers vehicle approx. 1.5", made from chromium silicone steel, unsurpassed strength, powder coated red.

That is what was on the product description.

progresive means it has 2 spring rates. one for cruisin, the other for heavy cornering. sine the smaller rate springs will compress a lot in cornering, they will hit max compression and then transfer into the 2nd, higher rate for better control in corners. this setup lets you get a comfy feel when driving normaly(as well as lower the car), and allow for better cornering.

It's gonna take alot longer than a week for em to settle. I didn't notice mine until about a month ago when I measured it. I've had my springs since Jan. 2001

Ok. I do like the way the car handles alot better than before - I was just real aprehensive when he pulled it out of the shop and it looked the same.

Hey Triad. I have the MAC springs and they corner really well with the SFC's, but daily driving is horobile. At first, i thought it was a little better..but its not..My car bounces so much on the freeway because the grooves in the road.. I REALLY think i need new shocks..would this helpa lot? and what kind would i need? thanks..

BTW here is what it looks like approx. 5 months after lowering.
