  • Best Tires??

I was just wondering what the best (Street Legal)tire is for racing. I've been looking around and i found these......OK Tire Stores-Defender- Z-Rated--235-55-16; Good Year-Nitto- V-Rated--235-55-16; CarMerica-KUMHO- H-Rated--245-5016.

The Guys at OK Tire Stores said that CarMerica was full of crap that the tire that they suggested was one of the worst tires that i could put on my car. do ya'll know of any better tires than these?? What do ya'll think about the two good ones?

    come get some

Yep, this will get locked or moved to where it should be. What type of racing will you be doing?

IMO, the nitto is the best. But try to find it in a 245/50R16 size. Those are a little bit better. And IMO, they are semi right. The kuhmo is not the absolute worst tire to put on your car, but I dont like it one bit. Hardest peice of crap tire I ever owned. And also, just so you know. If your looking for a good quality, awesome traction tire... price does matter. Its all about price with tires. The more expensive they get, the better they get. Period.

There is no such thing as THE BEST Tire, its all situational like firefigther sed what kinda racing u doin. plus the softer and stickyer they are the shoter the life span-long life means hard and cant handle well. i did see a tire on "Horsepower TV" (i think) that is basically a drag slick with knife thin slits to pass as street legal

i jus race out on tha street mostly, but sometimes at tha strip, I'll probably go with the v-rated but that is alot of money though.

What does the V rated have to do with it? You car will never go fast enough to need a v rated tire. I know most high performance tires are rated high like that but to make your choice of the tire on the speed rating is stupid. You have a lot to learn.

I have the Fuzion ZRi's... they are a great all around tire. They stick off the line, and the stick in the curves... and they are pretty cheap... about $110 a tire.
