Nope, not unless you plan to exceed 130mph. Also the cheaper 711s last longer since theyre harder compound, and they're both equally good in the wet. I prefer the tire tread of the 711 myself too.
$40/tire is a lot to consider, and 712s aren't worth $40 more per tire.
P245/50 is the widest you can get in 711s, P255/50 in 712s. Also 712s are 17" and up, 711s are maxed out at P245/50R16
Thanks a lot for the reply.... So then should I get P245/50 ? Also, what's the normal price to have them mounted and balanced... around $50 for a set of 4?

I have the 255/45/zr17 Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 tires with around 16,000 miles on them. They still look great. The only thing I don't like about them is that they wander all over the road.
i also have them in 245/40/18's and the only real problem is spinning.

What kind of price range are we looking at? I got two tire places to underbid eachother down to $120/tire for Potenza RE950s mounted and balanced. I love those things... great control, awesome in the rain.
get the 711's that's what i got and i love them. they are worth it more then the 712's. it cost me 60bucks to have them mounted and stuff and to get rid of my Dayton Daytona ZR tires. that i burnt off last year anyway, yeah get the 711's much better for the price
Custom Ram Air, High flow cat, Dynomax cat back exhaust, high flow air box. More to come. hopefully Cam:D
Through this club thing, I got the Kumho 712's in size 245/50 r16 for $86/tire shipped to my door. At first I liked them in the rain compared to my stock Eagle GA's but now that they are worn a bit they are only slightly better. The Eagle GA's hooked way better on dry pavement on the street and at the track.
