40psi all the way around, aftermarket tires. Less on long trips, about 35psi.

IMHO you shouldn't inflate past 35... the maximum for most tires is 44 PSI and almost all tire companies recommend 35 or less... you shouldn't deflate for long trips... if anything inflate a little more to get better gas mileage... but definitely no more than 40... anything over that is overkill.

          I run 32/32 on 275/40/17

When I had stock 235/55 I was running 32psi(supposed to be 30) and got center wear on the treads. I have 245/50 now and I put 32psi cuz my friend has a Z28 and thats the manufacturers recommendation. Even though I have 32psi(cold), I still noticed slight center wear. The car feels more twitchy with higher pressure as well.
I don't know how you guys are running all these pressures and not having tread wear issues.

If you're Nino and got a bum gauge, you run 30 up front, and 50+ in the rear.

he couldn't corner any faster than my factory suspension, with the tires (all 4) at 44.
Even with hard driving, I made my 50,000 mile tires last 75,000 miles before getting down to an unsafe tread depth. Currently running 235/55/16's

Yea, that's true, but I maily do it because it makes the ride smoother for me. But as far as the perto goes, you're right. I can handle the trade-off though

Rule of thumb is 32 all around....You know that Air expands and contracts in the tire based on weather conditions and how fast and far your driving. anymore than lets say 35psi will in the long run ruin your tires ;)

Once again, at 44 PSI I made my 50,000 miles tires last 75,000 miles despite all the peformance driving I do. And that was with them still having the minimum allowable tread for safety. I never ran them bald. Or had cords showing, or wear bars.

When I bought my 1997, it had goodyear 235/55/16's all around. The rear tires were at 40psi, the fronts around 35psi. I had a certain amount of tire chatter while braking from (insanely) high speeds, so I upped the fronts to about 39, which eliminated the chatter. They are marked 44psi max.

Okay folks time to hear from the professionals. After enduring post after post where when it comes to tire pressure, everyone seems to be an expert, I decided to contact the real experts, the people who make the tires.

So I e-mailed the following companies:
                            Bridgestone/Firestone
                            BFGoodrich
                            Hoosier
                            Sumitomo
                            Yokohama
                            Pirelli
                            Goodyear
                            Dunlop
                            Michelin
                            Tired Kuhmo, couldn't get through.

Asking them the pressure they reccomend for our application.

I'd post the letter here that I am sending but I think it'd reach the post limit of 10K characters.

Hopefully I'll post their replies within a week.
