I would think it wouldn't be a beneficial swap. As said before the chassis itself isn't designed to accept and you'd need a MechE degree to do it right. Also, the IRS isnt drastically better than live axle for handling. In "Chassis Engineering" it shows that the really big difference are in unlevel transitions and its barely better on smooth surfaces.
You could spend less money and have a higher success probability by sticking with the live axle and getting some Konis, sway bars, coil-overs, etc. Really with that setup you'd pull 1G on street tires, that seems good enough for a daily driver.
