    installed new rotors/pads, NEED HELP

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ok i installed some cross-drilled and slotted rotors on all 4 and some Hawk HPS brake pads on all 4. Im hearing some friction kind off sound coming from the rear driver side rotor. i think the pads is slightly touching the rotor, and its giving off a low sound. will this go away??? cause i only drove it maybe a couple of miles after i installed it. i wasnt having problems with the caliper sticking or anything before. could it just be the new stuff just settling in??

this is what i did today, i took the whole rotor and pad and everything back apart to see if something is wrong, but then i put everything together and its still making the noise. I then checked if the caliper was sticking, so i dropped it in NEUTRAL and with some help was rocking the car back and forth to see if the brake pad was touching and it wasnt. so i was like wth and put it back in PARK and did the same thing, rock it back and forth, and everything was fine. So could this be a messed up rotor??? or could it still be the caliper??? NEED HELP ON THIS

    thanks for any help

The pad should not be touching the rotor until you put pressure on the brake pedal. What kind of rotors are they? I bet they are the cheap ebay ones right? If so I would make sure they are true. I don't think it would be the hawk pads, I have never heard of any problems from them.

True meaning completly round and the same thickness thru out. I guess thats what you get tho instead of buying powerslots or something good. When you start to brake one day and you heard a loud noise(the rotor cracking) your srewed. I would just send them back anyway. Why buy good pads but cheap @ss rotors? Makes no sense to me.

as with anything, you get what you pay for.
especially for something as important as brakes!!! why would you buy such cheap rotors. good breaks could save your life. its not really something to be taken lightly.

there is the link to the auction, the seller is hitech rotors or something. The fronts ones have 3 holes not 4 like the one pictures. i got a good deal soo i brought them, there workin great right now. i talk to my mechanic and he said the friction noise is natural, until the pad wears down
