• urgent rim question. please help

hey everybody... i have a question regarding the ADR - STERLING 19 X 8.5 5X120 OFFSET 38
i saw in the website www.bigwheels.net that these rims would fit a 95 firebird but i got a better price off wheelmax.com for it on the same wheel but the guy says he cant sell the wheel for a firebird or a camaro..!!! (can u believe that!!!) he just wont sell it to me saying that he had some problems on the wheel on a firebird/camaro!!! can any1 give me some support on that... opinion or something because right now i dunno what to do ?!?!!? (
or if someone can give some advise where to buy 19" or 20" that would <<FIT>> my firebird that would help solve my problem...!!
THANK YOU

ive never seen 19's on an f body. there is a girl here with bog chrome 18's and there borderline. she can only run 215 width tires cus of clearance issues.

I have a 1.5'' drop with 245/40/18's and when i need new tires i am going to 275/35/18's. no problems at all.

I have 275's on the back on 18's and dont have problems except that my shocks are worn and need to replace...I rub once in a while a little. I cut my fender lip off so It only rubs with extreme suspension travel. 19's or 20's would work fine as long as the offset and tire is a low enough profile.

Theres a guy from the CamaroZ28.com board that goes by chuckys95, his car has 19's in the front and will have 20's on the rear soon. Here's a link to his Cardomain site. His car is sweet. chuckys95 Cardomain Page

If you know what you need, and you're sure it will work, then just don't tell him it's for a Camaro.
I had a similar problem, and I told them that it was a "custom application". In other words, "I'm building a Hot-Rod", and they shipped no problem with a disclaimer printed on the invoice that I had asked for that size.

Maybe he won't sell them to you because that's not the right offset for an fbody?

From
http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/96ss/11inchzr1.htm:

"A real ZR1 wheel with its 36mm offset requires the F-Body guy to roll the rear fender lips. This can be tricky and can cause damage to the paint if you are not careful! The Grand Sport wheels with their 50mm offset are tucked in a bit more and don't require one to roll the fender lips. Instead, you have to slightly modify the bump stop. This, IMO, is much easier than rolling the fender lips "

Could be he's just trying to do the right thing?

ok... i think i got it... i can put 19"s in my fbird without a problem at all... ( i dont care about doing any mods so it would fit without rubbing... i've done that before in brazil with other cars... )

i just need something like a 245/35/19 i guess would be fine right?? and an offset +40 and up...
is that right guys??

O2Bsogood >>>> that camaro looks great...!!!

I e-mailed Chuck(Chuckys95) about his wheels. He said they do not rub. I already deleted the e-mail but if I remember right he said 7.00 to 7.25 offset is good. I can't remember for sure though. Our wheels are 5X120(5X4 3/4") and like a 35 to 45 offset(7.00 to 7.25 inches). This is what Chuck says about his car on the Cardomain website
quote:
19x9.5f and 20x10r IForged "AERO" design wheels with 275/30ZR19 front and 285/30ZR20 rear Bridgestone Pole Position S-03 tires, and also Hal front coil-over shocks (dropping it even more)

I hope that helps, but if I was you I'd e-mail chuck and ask him.
