OK. . .my car's been shaking pretty bad when I'm slowing or stopping from 40mph+. I've read several deals that say "rotors are warped" and that I could have 'em resurfaced, turned, buy new ones, etc. Does resurfacing work on an 11 year old car with 171K on it? Besides that, I have front discs and rear drums--would the drums be a cause of this too?

If it was me I'd get new rotors and replace the brake pads all the way around the car. I've had my rotors turned on my car. And about 40,000 miles they were warped again, so I just went with an aftermarket rotor. You can have your rotors turned. If they are wearing thin the shop will tell you to get new ones.
