I'm starting to hear a popping noise when I turn the wheel at slow speeds? What would be making this sound? Also, could this be bad and what, if anything, should I look into replacing?

Do me a favor, pop your hood and grab the steering linkage coming out of the firewall. See if you can move it up and down any at all, see if there's any play there. Also, have somebody turn your wheel side to side and look/listen for the sound where the linkage comes into the steering rack.
