  • Lug Bolt Broke Off!!

Sorry not exactly sure what to call it. Anyways was replacing my rotors today. The bolts were improperly threaded, most likely from a rotation from Discount Tire. Make a long story short I broke one of the damn screws off inside of the lug nut. Ripped it clean off! Now I know I will be able to drive with the Lug Nuts I have on there now but I would like to replace it.

I would like to know, are these welded into place? It sure wouldnt budge with WD-40 and a hammer. Now, its great to know I have some super human strength for ripping it off, but I need to know how to fix it. I also noticed on the other side there is ANOTHER mis-threaded bolt... So I will need to replace that one as well.

    Any help appreciated!

They are pressed. Use a bigger hammer.

      Front or rear?

Not sure about the rear if its the same, but I replaced a wheel stud just like you need to do. Hammered the old one out and hammered the new one in its place. There is also a tool you can get somewhere called a wheel stud puller that will make the job a little easier. Wasn't that hard at all for me with just the hammer though. If you need a part number for the wheel stud, I have it somewhere. Just let me know.

        It's located in the front.
