Lowered car with SLP Loudmouth

I had my ride lowered by 2.5 inches with some cheap ebay springtech springs. It looked great.

Later on, I got an SLP loudmouth setup for exhaust. With the massive 3 inch pipe crossing right over the axle, I was having terrible trouble with the exhaust banging on the axle when I went over any type of small bump. It was terrible.

I tried readjusting the exhaust several times, but I could never solve the problem. I finally gave up and put my stock springs back in the rear end. My car looks goofy now because the front is really low and the back sits up.

Any suggestions??

yeah, its obvious u cant have ur cake and eat it too, so maybe splash out on some used eibach prokit lowering springs, prolly can get for $150 shipped.

Get some normal springs, dont drop more than 1.5" max.

I'll put up some pictures for you Monday of my solution to the exhaust smacking the PMR mounting backet. Basically it involves a bit of welding and an interesting looking hanger being pulled as tight as it can get in order to hold the exhaust up as high as it can go.

Unfortuantely, my problem persisted too long and did some slight warpage to the bracket, but it still works.

you can sometimes find some rear springs on ebay. if not look for a good set of used front and rears.

You can have your cake and eat it too! Mine is lowered almost 2" in the back, and I have the Rumbler with the same size piping as the LM. Mine was actually rubbing/vibrating against a heat shield back there! I got a pair of pliers and bent the heat shield to give another inch of clearance. No problems at all now. I think you'll find it's probably a heat shield on your car too:)

put some header wrap around the area that the exhaust hits on.
