bushings question and lowering question

I was thinking since my car has 139,000 miles on it I should change all the bushings in my car the same time I change the shocks. do you think this would be a good idea???would it help with handling or road noise??

and I was wondering how a 1.75 inch drop would hurt my heighth*. my tires would be just the same, but would it really kill my how my car scrapes when I pull in and out of driveways. does it become a pain, or do you get used to it and it really isnt all that bad.

even if lowering is a pain, do you think the handling gains are worth the hassle??

I wouldn't get those. Do you know what the spring rate is? I cannot find it anywhere, so therefore I wouldnt get them.

I have Hotchkis springs and Bilstein shocks and I am totally pleased with the setup. One of the best mods I have done. Handles so much better and looks awesome. I need sway bars now... suspension is addicting. [img]smile.gif[/img] I would consider some Sportlines if you want to go real low.

I personally wouldnt buy something I didnt know about.

I dont necessarily care about lowering my car, but the shock setup wasnt too xpensive so I thought what the hey. does anyone know of good kits I could buy or where i can find your shocks setup HAWGS?? how much did they cost you? did they lower your car. The springs I bought from TBryne.. they were 230 and some change I believe. The shocks were around 300 shipped (email me or IM me and I will tell you where).

I know that might be more cash then you were looking to fork over but it is worth it. You will want to do both at the same time too, it is the same isntall so might as well knock them out once. If its too much I would suggest saving until you can afford to do it all at once... it is a worthwhile mod. Let me know if you need any help. :D

and what about the bushings. will that help perfomance or to quite down the road noise??

It would some... but I am sure shocks would make a much bigger difference. Do you plan on doing the entire suspension eventually? LCAs, sway bars, PHB, and SFCs? If so all the bushings will change when you do those so no sense in wasting money buying bushings for stock parts. Just my opinion.

I would deffently do the shock/spring combo first. Instead of replacing bushings on the parts(which is a pain in the arse), just replace 1 part at a time on your suspenion if you can't afford them all at once.

You can go with the 1LE which has a harder rubber bushing(no road noise increase really). Or you can go with the poly types for the best performance, but you get alot more road noise.

It all depends on how you drive your car and what you want it to do.

You got to ask yourself that question. I love takeing turns fast and the whole aspect of handling. So its worth it to me.

Hell yes its worth it. Leaps and bounds better. No more boncing around on the freeway, no more 100 MPH+ gitters (its rock solid now 100+), rip aorund corners... its great.

But its addicting. Once you lower it you will want to do other suspension stuff to further tweak it because its so great. It takes a lot of money to make our cars fast at the strip, but they can be just as much fun to drive as a much faster car by tweaking the suspension.
