• Anyone use Gabriel Shocks?

I can get a great deal on a new set for the front, but I'd like to get some feedback if anyone has ever had them installed or currently has them installed. I don't plan on auto-x'ing, just something better than my stock decarbon's.

Also, I am going to upgrade to V8 springs along with new shocks.

I have them on my 94 V6 Camaro. The tire shop that did my H&R springs (2in drop) put them on. This was about 6 weeks ago. Was a real good price also. I like them, no complaints. Just wanted new shocks with the springs. Most of my driveing is on the freeway, 70-80mph. Why do you want V8 springs?

I have never used them on an f-body but I had them on my old s-10 jimmy and they sucked, in a year they were rattling. My roomate had them on his 86 vette and had the same problem, only thing is we had shocks not struts, I doubt it will be much different, to be honest just spend the extra money and get some bilsteins from the guy on ebay that sells them. best price you will find for 4 shocks.

Bilsteins are a little too expensive for me. I drive my camaro an estimated 800 to 1000 miles per year now that I have another car, and I'm also trying to put away as much money as I can for a possible '02 Camaro SS I'd like to buy from a neighbor. I really don't want to dump too much into my camaro -if possible.
Although, I will stay away from the Gabriel's though. Thanks for the adv. :D

I've gotten good advice that the KYB's are the best among the "cheap" shocks (~$150 for all 4 corners). I'm gonna throw a set on my girlfriend's '92, since she doesn't drive it like I drive mine

For my GF's '92 RS, he is selling the fronts for $53 each and the rears for $23 each.

I spent something like $395 for al four Bilstiens at autozone. Worth every penny. My younger brother who is an engineer with GM's delevopment group says it feels nearly as good as some of the new Vette's he's driven.

 Damn! All the good write-ups I've seen on this and other f-body boards regarding Bilstein's is making me want them more and more! I honestly didn't want to dump that much into my car, but it looks as though I'm gonna have to in order to get the ride I'm looking for.

Thanks for the replies.

dont use them i just put bilsteins on and wow. what a difference rides like a dream and handles awesome too, also lowered with th eibach pro kit. but the gabriels i wouldnt get. i had them on the car and ran into problems with the spring seats because gabriel dont use the stock ones forcin me to go to the dealership and get new ones. and after only 2 years they were so bad that after i compressed the shock it didnt return.

i wish they had fully adjustable bilsteins.
so i could switch to a drag race setup

wish i had the money for konis over bilsteins.
