  • brakes...disappear when it rains???

During raining season here in Florida I lose me breaks 10-20% of the time. I.E. during rain season like at least 2 times every gas fill ups. Like im driving along in the rain need to hit the breaks and the pedal sinks strait to the floor with no resistance. This has caused me to sink the back half of my car in a rainage runoff. The dealership says they know it could possibly goin on but because they dont have the computer hooked up to the output when it happens they cant fix it. According to the dealership in order for them to hook up the diagnostics, they have to know when the brakes will fail. ie they dont want to have the diagnnostics constantly hooked up.

What could be going on? I am paying for a car I cant drive in essence, tired of bringing it in all the time. Anything I can do???

    any answers?
At least tell me where I should go for help on this. I would like to get this fix....Before I add any parts or turbos or neww suspension or backend id like to get the brake problem fixed, or else its no point in doing anything.

Only thing I've ever had a problem with was rain getting on my old rear drum brakes, and they would get REAL soft. I say "old" because I went to disk brakes, and the problem went away. I don't think your car has drums though...?

sounds like a line pressure problem. i dont see how that could be caused by the rain though. are you sure its only the rain? maybe your abs is screwed up and your locking your brakes up and you dont know it?

really though, a brake system is a simple hydrolic system. nothing there really that can be affected only when it rains unless something really funky is going on where the rotor meets the pad. what kinda pads and rotors are you using?

youre saying that the car's brakes work just find when its dry out?

Are your front and rear tires the same diameter? If not, that will cause the ABS to activate under moderate to hard braking and stopping is poor.

stock car...disk breaks....And After taking it to another mechanic he said the same thing...probly either the ABS or master cylender...either way the dealership refuses to replace either at the moment.
