So continuing off the other thread, my drivers side QA-1 shock nut is stripped, tried prying it up and getting it off but that was no good. Talked to the mechanic and he said he can use a nut splitter on it and retap it. I think I’m going that route instead of cutting it off and paying $350 for new QA-1s. Probably be $200 in labor going the mechanics route.

Got a appointment for the 14th of May, see if their nut cutter will works. Either that works or I’ll cut it off and get new QA-1s.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Just got back from the shop, just took the bottom nut off the shock to lower it enough to put the spring isolators in. $50 in labor, figure when I need new rear shocks I’ll end up cutting it off. It rides much better and brought the rear up about 1/2”. Next I’m going to have my tq arm rewelded where it mounts it’s bent down maybe a inch, it’s actually where it mounts to the car it is that needs to be cut off and welded, it’s a good tunnel mount tq arm.Last edited by ssms5411; 05-14-2020, 07:18 PM.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake
