would tokico shocks be a good choice for a 95 convertable, also would changing the springs help to improve the ride and handling?

    Re: tokico shocks?

Being the only guy I have ever found on this board to run Tokicos (I had them in my 01 bird). They were a good shock and took one heck of a beating from me (autocross, etc). Get the rear adjustable ones though since they can be a bit stiff and the ride quality will be rough with their standard setting.

As to the springs, the answer is yes and yes - depending on which springs you buy. If you get Eibach Pros, expect your ride to get very bumpy and feel every little bump in the road imaginable. If you stick with stock replacements, you should be ok. Does the car feel loose on bumps? Also how many miles are on your current springs?
-Mark (aim: Eredasx)-<br />Black 01 Bird. 3\" exhaust. Eibach pros. Tokico shocks. Whisper lid. SLP CAI. LS1 DS. SLP fan switch. LSD. BMR PHR, LCAs and STB. Status: still repairing damage from punk thieves.

actualy i'm looking for something to give me a smooth bump free ride, i don't drive real fast , so i don't need great handling performance.

Have had good experience with Tokico Illumina's on Acura Integra's... very good for stable, responsive handling and since they are adjustable you can increase them for quick rebound response/solid ride or decrease them for slower rebound/ smoother ride. Springs aren't a necessity for changing ride and handling, having adequate dampers that match the stock spring rates will improve the handling by itself. "Upgrading" to stiffer springs is opposite of what you want if you are looking for a smooth, bump free ride. Wheel and tire selection also play a BIG part in how the car rides as well.
