Lowering Question

In the sticky, I read that you should replace the shocks if you replace the springs. I am planning on putting http://rksport.com/product/p_010338310/view_detail on my car, and was wondering if anyone recommended some shocks that would "match" these...

Anyone? Now that I have my new C5 rims, I've noticed my car is tilted a little torward the passenger side. So I know I need new shocks and I want to lower springs at the same time. Any suggestions to go w/the Eibach's in my first post?

the fact that your car is leaning has nothing to do with your shocks, but your springs.

it is recommended to buy matching shocks because if you used factory height shocks, they become over compressed due to obvious reasons.

I dont know of any shocks for our cars that are matched to be for a lowered car. Dont take my word on that though cause i havent researched available shocks lately. now, I dont know if it will pull it up on a search but if you do, you should read about having to take them to a professional and having them re-vavled to match your setup.

so b/c of my springs that's why my car is leaning? That doesn't make logical sense to me, but I believe you. So in theory, by replacing my springs, that should make my car level again?

well it does make sense cause the springs hold your car up man... shocks are for ride quality... I put kyb agx shocks with my pro kit... I should redo my sig cause it lost all the mods since the site change

Would the installation of springs call for an alignment on the car afterwards?

its a good idea.... and if it lowers your car enough you should get a chamber kit.... a pro kit would not really require a chamber kit but the sportline kit would

Check these out if you want a good shock/spring package. They are SLP spec Billstein HD shocks and SLP spec eibach springs, and the good thing is they are sold by SLP on their webpage. check em out. http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=70002

Just some FYI, the car is made to lean a little lower on the passenger side, supposedly so that the car is level when the driver is in

Thanks for the heads up. I've been kind of leaning toward the pro kit over the sportline. Found them for 240 shipped on eBay.

Sam Strano sells revalved bilstein shocks for $500, they would be the only way to have shocks that are matched to your springs (from my understanding), they will handle better because they are matched to your car. Plus the knowledge, and customer service that he can provide you with is exellent, you should at least call him up and talk with him because he will give you an idea of what is ideal for what you want

i was not aware that g.m. had lowered the passenger side ride heighth to compensate for driving without passengers. what was that known as? id like to find out more.
