  • Painting Calipers, new brakes

well, ive decided to paint my calipers while my car is just sitting in my driveway with a club on it...

i ordered some decals from brent
to clean the calipers, brent said he used wire wheel acid, is this http://cgi.ebay.com/Acid-Cleaner-Bio...QQcmdZViewItem the stuff?

i will be painting the calipers black, and putting 4 coats of high temp clear on them, with white camaro decals (i have a white camaro)

also, i plan on putting new rotors and pads on, because my rotors are warped, and look horrible
    i can get 4 rotors from r1concepts
    http://www.r1concepts.com/makes.asp?...s%20/%20Wheels

for under 280, these would be sliver zinc plated, and slotted (is there any advantage to the gold zinc plating over the silver?)

or, i can get ebay rotors for 165

will these drilled/slotted rotors crack? im assuming they will

    any advice is appreciated!
if anyone knows of a better set, for a good price, please let me know!

i bought some rotors off ebay, from a company i hadn't heard of before, since they were cheap and i needed new ones. they looked identical to those pretty much. ive had them on for over a year now, and they're doing just fine. i just inspected them a couple weeks ago when i did my pads.
mine cost right around 150 (set of 4) i believe.

i'm gonna have to repaint the 1 caliper i had done because a bolt fell off and it rubbed my wheel :( i just dont have the time or i would get all 4 done, but the 1 looked pretty sweet after i did it, just a little spot got messed up, i'm gonna wirewheel as much off as i can and just redo it and make sure the bolts are back on tight this time :)

        thanks loochy
should i go with hps pads, or performance ceramic pads? i cant decide, which will last longer, be easier on my rotors, and have better stopping power?

sounds tempting... might as well do braided lines while im under there, huh?

would make painting the calipers much easier too...
