i knew it was too quiet to be true...

quote from final email, after i sent payment...

Thanks for the payment. We will ship you rotors and pads. Please understand we do not advertise, stock or sell HAWK HPS pads. The pads and rotors we get are manufactured by www.CENTRICPARTS.com The line of pad is their POSI QUIET pad. We do not sell Hawks. Those pads alone costs about $150-$160. Thanks

            Re: Painting Calipers, new brakes

            started cleaning the calipers today...

            damn these things suck...

ive gone through 2 cans of brake cleaner on 1 caliper, and it still aint all the way clean... (im using crc brake cleaner in a red can)

i am using a wire wheel on a drill as well, its startin to come clean, but it looks like im gonna have to use a dremel on some spots the drill cant get to...

and now my wheel is worn all the way down, and no stores are open... so im out of luck until tomorrow

any advice on cleaning these things?

              Re: Painting Calipers, new brakes

i've done 1 so far, i only used like 1/2 can of brake cleaner and it really didnt take that long, just use a lot of coats of paint, and make sure you tighten the ****er up or it will fall off :( learned that the hard way

you havent driven forever have you, lots of rust, i think i am going to get the rotors too, idk if i want to go ahead and get their pads, or if i want to just get the rotors and buy the hawk pads elsewhere, i dont go that fast, so theirs ought to be fine i suppose

hawk pads are worth it. buy their rotors and then get hawk pads from tirerack.com and you'll be very happy with the set-up

you can do one of two things.

1: email them and see if you can return them since they mislead you into thinking you were getting hawks pads and that you now just want the rotors

2: put the ones you have on and when they wear out then get hawk pads. you wont need rotors so you'll be doing what you want to now, just in a year or two

i would try emailing them first. any reputable company will try and work with you on this. good luck

i just ordered mine today, i'm just going to use their pads and when they wear out i'll get the hawk pads, i dont have a huge need for massive stopping power so they will be good enough for now
