I was doing so back road adventuring today when this guy in his Cayenne made a motion to enter my path while I was going 50. I couldn't tell if he was going to try to make it out but I braked HARD not quite having the pedal mashed but damn close. Anyway it felt almost like the rear end was about to come around while doing this. I have never had to brake so hard before and never had a car with as good as brakes as I do now but is this a typical thing to happen for the rear end to want to snap around like that?
Im driving a 1999 Firebird, ABS, and TCS working.
no, it sould never try to swing out, unless you were on a gravel or uneven road. Get on a good road, hit the brakes and see happens.

Ya if its not due to pretty good variation in traction from tire to tire, its a problem with your suspension *possibly* but I personally would tend to think more towards your calipers, rotors, and pads... Like in mine the wear is really uneven and it pulls to the right fairly hard when I brake hard. Getting it fixed soon obviously, but look into that, not a safe one you want to have happen again.
Looking at my rotors I can actually see a noticeable amount of scarring. Also when normally braking the car tend to pulsate quite a bit. I think I just need to get some sand paper/emry paper and shave em down a little.
if its pulsating alot u may need to take your rotors and get them turned, they may be warped. if they pulsate under hard breaking it may be the ABS kicking in
there could be a problem but if I really smash it in my maro the back end does want to come around a little... But it reallly won't... It is because your braking the front and the rears still have circular momentum.... this
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
