I've had Michelins, BFG's, Goodyears, and Mickey T's, and all were fine. The only tires I didn't really car for that much were the Michelin Pilot Sports because they tracked the car into irregularities in the road. Right now I have BFG G-Force T/A's on my 96' and the stock Eagle GA's on the 02'. The BFG's stick to the road. That can be good or bad. Can't lay out rubber when you're sticking ;) The rides a little more harsh with 18's too. The Eagles on my 02' are great for a comfortable ride... the 02' rides smooth like a Caddy. I love the way they feel, but they are a little "chubby" looking. :)
You have TWO Camaros? Man...I'd hate to see your insurance bill! I had to get the V6 when I bought mine because my insurance guy laughed at me when I asked about the V8. My insurance report looks like a prisoner's rap sheet!

Ouch! Your coverage on your V6 for full coverage is more expensive than mine. I live and drive in Nashville, TN, car wreck capital of the south, and mine is only $500 every 6 months. Insurance is really a joke, anyways. Al Bundy put it best, "Insurance is like a wife. You give and give and give...and never get anything back."

Eh I'm 22 years old, not married, don't live at home, and obviously not under my parents insurrance. I only keep the full coverage to cover my stereo and aftermarket parts, I also go through a smaller company that specializes in restored cars, and rare cars, so they are alot easier to deal with when I say I got $5000 worth of parts into that car thats only worth $3500...
Makes sense to me. I hate looking at the blue book value on my car. The car I paid $23k for when it was new. Ugh!
I'd buy it all over again, though. Any car that can keep pace with me and not explode is rare. I decimated a Toyota Supra a few years ago. The Camaro is still going strong. Hard to put a price tag on reliability.

Good to know you like em, I cannot find a Goodyear tire any longer that I am happy with from cars tires to the tires on my '95 Jeep, just can't find a single one.
Ever try these?
"Goodyear's Eagle F1 GS-D3 "takes performance to new heights"
Those were on my friends TransAm WS6 until about a week after I got my new Toyo Proxes 4 then he got rid of his Eagle F1s and got the Toyo's. A good tire yes, personally I was not happy with them for the $300 price tag though, and I think they were about hand and hand with my new Toyo's, infact my Toyo's have better snow traction :) lol
Wow. I was just reading a new article in Wired magazine and apparently the problem with Firestone tires wasn't the first major incident they've had in their history.
Firestone 500 tires, 1970s
These steel-belted radials allowed water to seep under the tread, which caused the belting to rust and the tread to separate, typically at high speeds. Dozens of deaths later, Firestone blamed consumers, then recalled 10 million tires.
Yeah. I'm gonna trust this company for MY tires. I think not. Sheesh!

Wooow, so many computer people here. I don’t feel so lonely now. ^_^
Just an WFI, I work for HP (well, contracted). I do tier III support for HP/Compaq employees (I fix the engineers computers). And I am surprised that you are so confidant in the Compaq line. I know I’m not. ^__^ Wait, no, I didn’t say that. I was never here...
I agree with Nikos on the Toyos. Several years ago, I was GIVEN a 1980 Merc 300d. It was a big old HEAVY beast of a car. It had its engine replaced with a flat 6 gas. With the rally rims, and a set of Toyos.
Of course, the first thing I did was “Well, let’s see how it handles.”
After about 2 hours of driving in the Oregon hills, and the little “chirps” as the tires would start to slip then instantly re-grip, I was sold. I then understood why people would pay $600+ for a set of tiers. Before that day, I never would have given it a second thought.
It's not a matter of having confidence in Compaq. I just like the way their engineers think when they build a high end server. Especially the 8way servers. The design is much better thought out than HP. I've thrown away so many HP servers (I can't count the number of LH3s that died well before their time!) because they failed well before they should have, and I have several Compaq Proliant Pentium II servers still out there working after 8+ years. It's just a matter of dealing with the hardware first hand. (shrug) By the way, do you live in India? Hahahah
I may have to look into the Toyos next time. So far, these Bridgestones I put on have certainly lived up to the reputation they received on Tirerack.com. I TRIED to squeal them this afternoon coming out of a hard turn and I only got a quick squeak out of them before they planted themselves squarely back onto the road. Best tires for the money I've ever put on my Camaro.
As a side note, I had a bad scare with it on Friday. I had the 3 1/2 road trip planned so I took the car down and had it serviced. The idiot who changes the oil checked the radiator resevoir and said, "Hey! You have oil in your radiator fluid!" Of course, having to go on a road trip the next day I knew a blown head gasket was not a good idea. I took the car home and checked it myself. It was a slight coating of floating rust and didn't even look like oil! Scared me half to death! Sheesh! I flushed the tank and filled it back up with Dexcool and away I went. So now I have to find a new place to change my oil. The last thing I need right now is some idiot scaring me about my car. :)

No kidding on the India thing! Oy! It’s bad dude. I won’t go into it, because it just makes me mad.
But, on the server side, I have only had one “Compaq” server. And I use it as my test bench for dev stuff. Most reliable out of all of “my” servers, and I do use it heavily. Except for maybe the casting server (HP). It’s a rock, but I can’t even remember what model it is. Isn’t that bad?
The only real server equipment I have ever had die on me is these old damn HP RS8 and RS12’s. Old, ya, I know, but that’s what we get. ^_^
Truth is, I still have Eagles (came with them), I need to replace them, BAADLY. I have been leaning to the Toyos because of my history with the tier (P4s). How much did your Potenza cost? On-line or local?
Yaaa, I used to have other people change my oil, then I had a place (Pensoil I believe) miss-thread the filter. Fortunately it was like a $300 car, but... Was it a shop, or a quickie place?
I had a local shop do the Potenzas and they were about $100 each plus mounting. I came out ok. I did the math on the Tirerack.com Potenzas plus shipping and mounting and came out about the same having it done locally. That's what's so amazing about these tires. They have the right about of smooth ride, cornering ability (keep in mind that I don't drive extremely aggressively because I want my car to last awhile...heh), and the cost was right. They have yet (knock on wood) to slide on me in the rain or in the dry. I could never say that about the Eagle GAs that came on the car. And honestly, the Potenzas just look good on my car. I'll wash and wax the Camaro in a few days and post a few pics so you can see the finished product, if you are interested. It's been raining like a pig here lately and the car is covered in dirt.
The place that changed the oil was a local no-name place. They have Mobile-1 oil and I wanted a change from the Texaco oil I had been using so I tried them. I'll probably just find another place with Mobile-1 and switch to using them. I like the purr of the engine since I switched to Mobile-1. There is a noticeable difference between the Mobile-1 synthetic and the standard Texaco 10w30 I had been using since it was new. I wish I had switched a long time ago. The oil change guys had been telling me I'd like the synthetic but I figured it was just a sales gimmick. Turns out they were right about one thing. Hmm...the ONLY thing. Heh

Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
