    Re: power steering cooler

It would be better than no cooler since the stock power steering pump deteriorates rapidly with any autocross/track use. Best to replace stock pump with a turn-one racing unit though - you don't even need extra cooling capacity of a heat exchanger with the turn-one pump. The pump runs around $240 though.

if its gonna die from autocross/track use then when it dies I would like to just remove power steering all together and switch to manual

I wouldn't advise a manual rack with an autocross/track camaro, it would be too many turns lock to lock. My stock power steering pump died after I came in to paddock from a fourth run session the second day at the then newly opened MSR roadcourse...was barely able to turn the wheel at low speeds with 275/40-17 Nitto NT-555RII's because of their grip. A manual rack probably would have been doable, but as said it would require too much turning of the steering wheel.
