'97 3.8 A/T ... I don't know if I'm just a jacka$$, but I'm having a hell of a time getting a new Energy Suspension TA Bushing in. The clamshell won't close enough to get the bolts to lineup/thread. Am I missing something?? I took out the old bushing and grinded away the rivits so the old metal backing is gone but it just seems like the new bushing is too big. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yah, it's a nasty tight fit. I used a big pair of channel-locks to press the clamshell halves together while I tried to thread the bolt on.

Thanks for the info ... I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something and that it was supposed to be that tight of a fit ... Well, I guess back to the garage... thanks again.

Got it all done along with the poly tranny mount ... after taking it for a ride I'm not quite sure if I love it or hate it. I guess I'll wait out the break-in period and see how it is ... definately an improvement over old stock bushings. Thanks again for the ideas.

It's crazy vibration ... now I'm starting to wonder is I want to go poly for everything ... I got a feeling if I do, my wife won't call it a firebird, but a 'Vibrabird'

My stock one was all ripped up ... so I thought it was a good time to upgrade.
