so got the stock setups out (yes the previous owner NEVER had new shocks put on even after 9 years and 10x,xxx miles) and one of the struts is rusted to **** and we can't get it apart (fixing that tomorrow) and the other isn't bad...at least we'll be able to take it apart no problem. anyways, the questions i've got is about the assembly itself. did yall reuse the stock upper and lower spring mounting assemblies that were on your shocks on your new shocks or did you get totally new setups? i've found the upper assemblies new but i cannot for the life of me find anything to take place of the lower assembly. anyone...please HELP!!!

Re: need help...installing front springs/struts
The lower spring seat should come already attached to the new shock. The upper seat is a wear item and with that many miles should really be replaced.1994 Firebird 3.4
15.65 @ 86.8
funkz.net/firebird
Timeslips

Re: need help...installing front springs/struts
Hrm, okay you're right, the Bilsteins don't come with lower seats. Funny, my KYB's did.

I suppose you have to reuse the stock seats then? It looks like there's a lip for the seat to rest on.1994 Firebird 3.4
15.65 @ 86.8
funkz.net/firebird
Timeslips

Re: need help...installing front springs/struts
yes...the bilsteins have the lip for the lower assembly. i know one guy ended up with a coil over(?) kit that came with his springs but i'm not sure. it was some kind of adjustable lower seat that held the spring on the bottom. i've searched a little bit on my options and can't find any new lower seats, just the top mounts.Last edited by Heartbeat_of_94; 08-28-2006, 01:23 AM.1994 Camaro 3.4 L V6
2.5\" Flowmaster 80 Series American Thunder Exhaust
SLP Cold Air Intake
Sony Head Unit
Pioneer Midranges
2 10\" Sony XPlod 1100 W Subs
Power Acoustiks 980 W Amp
http://www.cardomain.com/id/heartbeat_of_94
