Re: 1le sway bars
www.1lev6.com I have a parts listing for all 1LE and other items if you need part numbers.
There are lots of 32/21 combo bars out tat will perform fine. Just search lmperformance or one of the sponsors to find one.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

Re: 1le sway bars
Note that swaybars need to be matched to springs. With 1LE springs, 1LE bars (which are 32/19, not 32/21) are good. With stock V6 springs, they are not a good idea. In particular the rear bar is a tuning device, nothing more. Bigger is not better, it needs to be the right size. 21 is too big for most any setup, but wacko too big for stock V6 springs.2000 Firebird convert, chameleon/tan, M5, Y87, TCS, BMR tower brace and panhard, KBDD sfcs, 245/50-16 GSCs

Re: 1le sway bars
The 32/21 bars were ONLY used one year - 93, and used stock springs. 94+ was 32/19 with 1LE spec springs.
V6Bob is correct - V6 springs are a no, and 1999+ V6 spec springs are the WORSEST.Robert - owner www.FirebirdV6.com/CamaroV6.com

Re: 1le sway bars
Actually, they (32/21) were only used for maybe 20 cars. It didn't take long for GM to go to 32/19. Since the original 1LE package was intended strictly for racers, I've assumed GM got some unfavorable feedback from racers about 32/21.2000 Firebird convert, chameleon/tan, M5, Y87, TCS, BMR tower brace and panhard, KBDD sfcs, 245/50-16 GSCs

WRONG!
V8's have different springs rates, a 21mm rear bar is NOT OK on stock 1999+ V6 springs.
This is serious. This bar will create oversteer. This mod could KILL you.
I did it, and then had to go to a 35mm front and V8 stock springs! Too stubborn to take the 21mm off! :)Last edited by FirebirdGT; 09-16-2006, 03:00 PM.Robert - owner www.FirebirdV6.com/CamaroV6.com

Install the 32mm, and return the 21mm
Or keep the 21mm, return the 32mm, and get Eibach V6 springs and a 35mm front.Robert - owner www.FirebirdV6.com/CamaroV6.com

Re: 1le sway bars
well im not trying to be rude but in the suspension guidelines yall have in this forum it says that you can do a 32/21 setup on stock springs so i went off of that and know i spent the money and im not sure i can return these items. well i think ill just keep the 32 and if i cant return the 21mm ill have to get springs. do any aftermarket performance springs(like eibach...) work in conjuction with both of the sway bars or is it specifically 1le springs you have to buy? where can i find 1le springs?

No offense, but your question shows you do not understand suspensions. Please stop and learn some more before you proceed.
Sway bars and springs work together, and must be sized together.
Do a search for V6Bob threads, he is one of the suspension experts on this Board.Robert - owner www.FirebirdV6.com/CamaroV6.com

Re: 1le sway bars
From 98+ both V6 and V8 had the same rear spring rate, which was stiffer than the 93-97 V8 rear springs. Why would 98+ V6 rear springs be "the WORSEST" to use with a larger rear bar? Seems to me a 93-97 V6 rear spring would be "the WORSEST".
Firebirdedgar, using a 21mm bar out back with a 32 front and stock springs will give you noticeably more oversteer. On wet roads it will get tail happy and want to slide out on you. A 32/19 combo seems to make for a better balance IMO. You don't need 1LE springs, other manufacturers springs will also work. But with springs you should also get better shocks too. It's a never-ending cycle. :)
There is a lot of misinformation floating around this site. I wouldn't base your purchase decisions off of one person's suggestion.Last edited by FunkZ; 09-17-2006, 04:20 AM.1994 Firebird 3.4
15.65 @ 86.8
funkz.net/firebird
Timeslips
