i have a 99 firebird with the y87 pefromance package so it has th eupgraded steering. when coming to stops usually, or just whenever the road is crowned one way, or i hit bumps/high low spots (especially at like a stop light) my car wants to steer or pull extremely hard in the direction? coudl this be because i need new tires, or is there something in my suspension/rack n pinion? thanks for any suggestions.

Re: steering
probly not tires, it would be less likely to pull if you needed new tires. Have the alignment checked, b/c if the Camber or Toe is out equally on both sides, it could cause a pull on the side that has more weight transfered to it. Are the tires wearing evenly??? From what you're describing, if it is an alignment issue, it sounds like your tires will be worn more on the inside than out. If that is the case, get an alignment, and either rotate or replace the tires. The uneven wear isn't the problem, it's a symptom of the problem, so don't just replace them and expect that to solve it.Rebuilding the engine... Building a custom front end... T-top conversion...
