  • lca relocation brackets...which position?

well ill be installing the BMR lcas and lca relocation brackets tomorrow.

the brackets offer two angles so... does anyone have any opinion on which to go with? or the pros and cons of each?

im leanning towards using the more extreme of the two. its not like i cant change it.

    thoughts?

    try both.

if your car is lowered then the btm one is recommended.

if strickly straight line performance is the goal use the btm.

just go out and try it.

    start with the upper hole.

    then try the lower.

it only takes a few minutes to switch.

dont forget to post up your results and findings for others to see.

This is directly from the BMR FAQs about the LCA question at hand:

"I purchased control arm relocation brackets but which hole do I use for my application?"

While each car varies based on many variables, there is a common rule of thumb that can be used for initial setup. Typically a car that is stock ride height or lowered less than 3/4" can use the middle mounting hole of our relocation brackets. Cars lowered 1" or more will benefit mostly from the lowest setting(bottom hole). The goal is to point the control arms in an upward angle rear to front. In other words, the front bushing of the control arm should be higher than the rear when looking from the side of the car. This provides an improved "instant center" by moving the imaginary intersect point of the control arms and torque arm rearward. Result - better weight transfer for improved traction.

i was leaning towards using the bottom one since mines lowered.

i just wanted to hear some personal experiences.

ill post up how it feels on the bottom setting. i dunno if i want to do double work. :)

            :O

the car feels so much stiffer and sure of itself.

the tires dont spin as easily as they used to and when they do its a ton more controllable.

            i love suspension mods.:)

                      Re: lca relocation brackets...which position?

yup theyre in the lower position. :p

i bought the control arms from a member here for $120. brand new. (bmr boxed. poly/poly)

the brackets i got from uh thunderracing.com i think, since they still have the other colors. (i had wanted yellow but they sent me black since i mentioned if itll take too long to get the yellow gimme red or black. now i wouldnt mind so much if i didnt still get charged the extra $10 for yellow.)

the shocks are regular bilstein hds. i think i shouldve went with revalves or kyb agx's though since its not the perfect match with the eibach springs. i mean to me its fine but im sure it could be better. the ride is a little rough on bumps.

i love how its driving. very stiff (in a good way) go-kart-esque if you will. ;)

i think sfcs will be next. gotta find a shop thatll do it.
