The current tires are absolutly shot. i spin out going like 20mph..ridiculus.
i need to know what type of tires i should get and stuff.
im looking for performance, however all season (i live in NJ...)
i dont know too much about tires so please help me out. thanks.
If you drive in the winter you'll do far better with a cheap set of wheels and real snow tires, marked with a snowflake and a mountain. Like Bridgestone Blizzaks.
All seasons are mediocre at everything. In the summer that doesn't matter that much, but in winter.....
Very true Bob. Blizzaks are great tires.
If its in your budget, two sets of tires/wheels would be ideal. Thats what I would prefer also, but unfortunately I am on a fixed budget being a full time student so I had to compromise a bit. For an all-year tire, I do think the Proxes have good performance and the price was right at $115 each.
just because you said you dont know much about tires. make sure you get one's with an appropriate speed rating unless you really only do the speed limit:wavey:
BF Goodrich G Force tires are awesome. I had other brands before these and I am totally impressed. Excellent handling, very good wear, especially for Z-rated tires. I have put 15K on them since buying them and they still run prefect. A friend of mine who uses this kind and drives about 100MPH during runs to/from work says they still handles perfectly smoothly at all speeds.
Buy them from Tirerack - excellent price/quality combination.
I had the Toyo Proxes 4 on my '95, but I wanted the BFg Gforce Sports or KDW's
Can't complain about the Proxes 4s though, they gripped really nice and barely ever cut loose on me. Didn't get flat spots, pretty quiet and gripped well.
