  • Will lowering the car affect the position of the subframe?

Here is my problem - my header crossover pipe is rubbing against the chassis. I think the only way to fix this is to have the pipe reshaped.

However, this winter I am installing the Eibach pro kit which will lower the car 1.25". So my question is, will the springs/lowering the car affect the position/attitude of the subframe? As in, should I wait to have the crossover pipe reshaped until after the spring installation?

I hope I explained that well enough. TIA.

no, it won't affect the pipes if u lower the car. the pipes are connected to the motor, which is connected to the car. go ahead and get the pipes reshaped now.

I know lowering the car won't affect the pipes. I was wondering if it would change the relationship of the pipes to the subframe since the subframe connects to the suspension. Since I am lowering the entire car the same amount and the motor mounts are on the subframe, I expect the relationship to stay the same; however, a suspension guru I am not.

        It won't mess with it.

itll be fine... my car is lowered and has headers and full cat back exhaust... i do want subframe connectors... i think that would help. but the car stays just as if not MORE solid once lowered. also provides for a nice increase in handling. (with suspension mods)

I have subframes and it made a pretty big difference in the rigidity of the car. It feels alot better, more solid.
