I am in need of new tires. Below is a pictures of the rims that I have. My car has 225/55-16 Eagle GT+4 tires, which I know are not the correct size. Will the 235/55-16 tires fit on these wheels? Also, any suggestions for tires? I went by the local Goodyear, and their prices seem quite high. If I buy the tires from Tire Rack I have a place that will mount, balance, and replace the valve stems for $75. Thanks...
245/50 r16's hear... yeah i would recommend them. my brother just put 245/50's on his 2000 camaro and he said that was a great boost in traction and they look great too!
245/50's are wider for a bigger contact patch, and they have a lower ratio'd sidewall (50%) so they should handle better. mine grabbed better but they stopped telling when they were gonna give out/lose traction.
You mentioned Tire Rack, I have been buying all my tires from them for 15 years. I don't think they sell a bad tire. Just use the customer reviews as a guide and you should be able to find something in your budget.
I bought my tires from tirerack and had them shipped directly to Goodyear who installed mount, balanced, put new valve stems in and will rotate and balance tires for the life of them for $65.23 after tax.

What a difference. My old tires were not only bald, but also the sidewalls had dry rot all over them. I wound up buying Republic Tires from my local Goodyear dealer. The tires are Republic Ultra HP4 Radial GT and I kept the size that was on the car which was 225/55-16. When I left the shop I took it out on the highway and it drove great. Nice and quiet, no vibration, very nice ride. The tires also came with free balance and rotation every 6,000 miles and lifetime free flat repair. The price was $89 per tire plus $7 per tire for mount / balance / new valve stems.
When I had that size the tire rubbed the inner fender well. You don't have that problem? As long as you like them thats all that matters. Traction in rain is good

No, the 225's do not rub, at least on my car. That is why I did not switch to the 235's. I was concerned about them rubbing.
