I am in need of new tires. Below is a pictures of the rims that I have. My car has 225/55-16 Eagle GT+4 tires, which I know are not the correct size. Will the 235/55-16 tires fit on these wheels? Also, any suggestions for tires? I went by the local Goodyear, and their prices seem quite high. If I buy the tires from Tire Rack I have a place that will mount, balance, and replace the valve stems for $75. Thanks...

Re: Tire size for rim and suggestions
I used to have those wheels, they're 16x7.5" and you can put a 215/60, 235/55 or 245/50 on there. I would go with the 245/50.
Living in Florida I don't imagine you need an all-season tire, but are probably looking for a summer performance tire?1994 Firebird 3.4<br />15.65 @ 86.8<br /><a href=\"http://www.funkz.net/firebird.htm\" target=\"_blank\">funkz.net/firebird</a><br /><a href=\"http://mywebpages.comcast.net/funkz/timeslips.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Timeslips</a>

Yeah, snow is not a concern. However, heavy rain is. I just want a quiet tire that will handle well in wet weather.

Re: Tire size for rim and suggestions
You mentioned Tire Rack, I have been buying all my tires from them for 15 years. I don't think they sell a bad tire. Just use the customer reviews as a guide and you should be able to find something in your budget.1994 Firebird 3.4<br />15.65 @ 86.8<br /><a href=\"http://www.funkz.net/firebird.htm\" target=\"_blank\">funkz.net/firebird</a><br /><a href=\"http://mywebpages.comcast.net/funkz/timeslips.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Timeslips</a>

I bought my tires from tirerack and had them shipped directly to Goodyear who installed mount, balanced, put new valve stems in and will rotate and balance tires for the life of them for $65.23 after tax.Originally posted by kalaI'll have buttsecks with Richard Simmons!

Re: Tire size for rim and suggestions
What a difference. My old tires were not only bald, but also the sidewalls had dry rot all over them. I wound up buying Republic Tires from my local Goodyear dealer. The tires are Republic Ultra HP4 Radial GT and I kept the size that was on the car which was 225/55-16. When I left the shop I took it out on the highway and it drove great. Nice and quiet, no vibration, very nice ride. The tires also came with free balance and rotation every 6,000 miles and lifetime free flat repair. The price was $89 per tire plus $7 per tire for mount / balance / new valve stems.

Re: Tire size for rim and suggestions
When I had that size the tire rubbed the inner fender well. You don't have that problem? As long as you like them thats all that matters. Traction in rain is good :banana:Originally posted by kalaI'll have buttsecks with Richard Simmons!
