Re: speed rating?
For your own safety I would not exceed the speed rating on your tires. They probably wouldn't blow out if you exceed the rated speed for a few moments, but if you are going 130mph+ on tires rated for 118mph you are just asking for problems.
Just resist the temptation to exceed the rating until you replace the tires. I have my speed limiter removed but have yet to exceed 118, the rated speed for my stock Goodyear GA tires.2002 Silver Firebird A4
T-Tops, Leather, Y87, W68, Chrome Wheels
Bone Stock

Re: speed rating?
Unless your tires are really old you could get away with it once in a while. Like they've already said tho, i wouln't recomend it, and its certainly dangerous. That said, donuts are only rated to 55mph and people drive on those on the freeways all the time...

Re: speed rating?
Another reason donut tires have a low speed rating is, if you drive at high speeds or long distances with two different sized tires on the drive wheels, it will destroy your differential. The donut is just meant to get you someplace to get your tire fixed.2002 Silver Firebird A4
T-Tops, Leather, Y87, W68, Chrome Wheels
Bone Stock
