There is a wheel place here where I live that will shave down tires for circuit racers who need rain tires. They put it on a big lathe kinda thing and use a rotary tool to cut down the tread height.
Maybe there is someplace in your area that can do the same.

CDNFB, thanks for the help. Everyone else, plz stop bashign me about using the e-brake instead of my regular brake. I drive a 5-speed, so my hand's right there by the e-brake. In a split second, the only thing that came to my mind was the e-brake. The regular brakes may have stopped me better, but the point is I didn't use them. It's still very much drivable with the brakes the way they are, they just aren't as good as the used to be. To me, pulling the e-brake comes naturally when in an emergency, not pushing the pedal.
I use my ebrake when I go drifffinn in parking garages ; ) I never touch mine except when I park on my big a$$ hill. I always rest my hand on my auto shifter (wishing I had a manual someday).
