  • How long do you think putting on these mods will take?

I am seriously pressed for time I'll have 2 maybe 3 days to do all of the following:

Swap front brakes for LS1 style
    New springs/shocks all around
Swap in a LS1 rear end (put new rear end cover on it, paint the rear end)
    New Front/Rear sway bars
    New LCA's (w/LCA relocation bracket)
    New panhard
    Aluminum driveshaft
    (Paint all the calipers)

It has to be entirely done by Monday the 18th but a lot of the parts don't arrive until Wednesday/Thursday. I know I'm pushing it but if I don't get it done I won't be able to work on it again for another 2-3 months.

For those interested in the parts list:
(Nobody had any suggestions for a full-suspension workup here or at Camaroz28.com so I did the best I could with the knowledge I had.)

Springs (Ground Control coilover with Eibach springs)
    Shocks (Koni Double Adjustable)
    Swaybars (Strano hollow 35/22)
    LCA (Spohn Adjustable)
    Panhard (Spohn Adjustable)
Brakes (Baer 2-piece slotted/drilled up front, Baer single piece slotted/drilled in the rear, hawk brake pads all around and stainless steel brake lines).
Rear-end (POSI, 3.23's, Rear-end girdle with axle support mounts <For when I build up the rear in 1-1.5 years to handle a high nitrous spray>)

I do have air-tools and a former mechanic is going to be helping me out with swapping everything.

          NO WAY!!

Converting to LS1 front brakes (do the shocks and springs at the same time) and rear shocks and springs will take at least 6 hours.

The rest I'll say are close.

To complete everything you want to do is closer to 2-3 days.

I could do it in one day... I think you could get it done in a long full day if you have airtools.

              Especially with help.

Not sure how the front brakes will be but bleeding the lines for the front and rears will be tricky.

Sigh... looks like not much is getting done. Three-cheers for assuming these car parts stores can get parts out in any sort of a timely manner. Somewhat disappointing as now I'll have to pay to have all these things put in for me. I'm still going to try and put the rear end in and use the new rotors/pads but just re-use the rubber lines for now. Rear-end should look pretty I cleaned it up and its getting painted black (POR-15) the rear-end cover is being replaced by a billet aluminum one with mounts for a future axle brace. And I have black caliper paint so all the calipers will be black as well.

Ws6 store I haven't heard anything from... waiting on a LCA bracket.
Strano parts I'm still waiting on haven't heard anything from them.

Thunder-racing has a few of my items on back-order I guess they shipped me a partial order so now I have all the rotors and the rear pads but no brake lines or front pads... <_< And all the suspension components I ordered from them are on back order no idea when they're coming in but I have been charged for everything.

Ground control shipped my springs out but kind of late, to late unfortunately. Kudos to Tirerack, POR15, LMPerformance, Jegs and Summit who all sent out my orders asap and I recieved them in 2-3 (business) days.

Painting parts will take a day with doing multiple coats and properly preping the surfaces.

I already partially prepped the rear end (cleaned/degreased it). I don't know if I have enough paint for all this stuff so we'll see. I want to get one cote of POR-15 on the rear and the rear calipers. I'm not putting the front on yet so that can wait if need be and in 8-10 months I'll probably be putting a higher numerical gearing in the rear so I can always paint it again then. I have 1 Quart of POR-15, think that will be enough for the rear?

You will want to put all the bolts back in that you took off.

I did most of what you are talking about in 2 days by myself with air tools but had crappy spring compressors and had to make a side trip to buy a dremmel to cut off the top nut from the shock.
What took me the longest was compressing the spring taking the shock apart and putting it back together. I didn't do the rear end swap but removed prettymuch everything from the rear end require to swap it.

for bleeding the brakes just buy yourself a mity vac, good investment if you plan on doing any wrenching in the future.

oah yeah alot of time trying to find a castle nut that disappeared for about half a day then suddenly reappeared. If you know what you are doing you could do this in 2 days easy with help and tools. Just can't screw around.

I realize you won't be able to do thisin your planned time but if you have tools and help a 3 day weekend is quite possible.

Well tommorrow I guess I'll work on it. I'm really only doing the rear-end swap but my timetable has shrunk down again to around 3-4 hours to do it. I also have to put in a wood floor, crown molding, baseboards, drywall, window trim, door trim and move some stuff around.

It's going to be just the rear end, LCA brackets, LCA's, Panhard and rear brakes since its all really connected anyway. Weeeeeee. If I don't get it in my car will be proped up on blocks for 6-8 months while I recover from surgery on monday.
