  • Lowering: Good or Bad?

I plan to lower my 99 camaro, but have heard to diffrent stories; I hear people say that it will improve my suspention and handling, and I have heard that it will just cause more problems. So what do you think?

It will improve if you do shocks and springs, it will be worse if you do just springs. I really suggest not doing just springs if you lower more that 1", it will ruin your ride quality and your tires will get bald faster.

Lowering is mostly a cosmetic deal. The car feels racier/more responsive because of the stiff springs. But the stiff springs and less than perfect suspension geometry lower cornering power a bit. You can lower and fix it right, but it's by no means easy.

If you want you car to handle better really good shocks and tires is a more foolproof way to go.
