Re: bilstein front shocks missing pieces?
Is that all i need? does it not come with bolts for the bottom or do i just use the stock ones? but the top end is what i am worried about. i guess that might be it? couse i expect somekind of bushings for the topend but when i thought about it the cars have strut mounting points that go ontop of the spring. i am just not sure.

You have a COIL-OVER SHOCK!
Use the stock mounting hardware.Robert - owner www.FirebirdV6.com/CamaroV6.com

The lower end of a strut (also known as a Macpherson strut) connects solidly to the spindle, and the strut serves as both a shock and an upper control arm.
The lower end of a shock bolts to a pivoting connection. There has to be a separate upper control arm to take the lateral load.
The top end of 4th gen front shocks kinda look like struts so some people (even some mechanics) call them that. But it's the bottom end that counts. And the presence or absence of an upper control arm.
Clear picture:

A coil over shock is a shock located within the spring coil.

How about taking everything between sweet and Robert and making it a sticky entitled Why 4th gens have shocks, not struts
It should replace the sticky labeled Shocks, which is pretty tiresome and not clearly titled. As I said there:

Re: bilstein front shocks missing pieces?
i reused the plastic covers (dust boots?) from my stock shocks. mainly because they appear to have a little bump stop in em as well as it just looks like somethings missing without em.95 bright red camaro 3.4l
