Tire review: Sumitomo HRT Z

I put Sumitomo HRT Z tires on the back of the camaro to replace 235 55 16 BFG Traction T/As that were moved to the front. The new tires are 245 50 16.

These tires' sidewalls flex, and cause noticeably more "a55-wag" at interstate speeds. At lower speeds on winding roads, they are fine. Mine is a commuter car, so I keep the tires at 44psi for better mileage, so underinflation isn't a factor.

They were cheap from tire rack, but I wouldn't get them again. I might even move them to the front which will cause vague, but predictable handling.

I have some of those on my 17/18" C5's...I noticed my car drifting around the road more after I first put them on but it might be the rims...I still have to get them balanced

I run HHR4's and those are working out real nice.

There called HTR Z's, not hrt. I dont notice this sidewall flex you refer to. I dont drive my car balls to the walls, but i step on it every once in a while, and i think it handles like a million bucks with my htr z's.

I run those in a 275/40 and never notice anything to worry me.

yea that's what size i have...i've notice they look a little bit skinnier than normal 275s but it's just because of the tread pattern...
