  • Help! What Mount Is This.?

Well i've notice this noise on the car for about 2 weeks, but gradually kept getting worse until saturday i cannot drive even to pick up 65mph speed limit on the freeway. The noise it made was grinding at take off, or passing other cars, parking lot speed, just about anything. went to the autozone and Checkers and none of them could identify the part. For now my friends Granpa stuck a heavy duty sponge and some heavy ducctape. it helped it alot but i really want to replace this part.. its next to the transmission hold the driveshaft and lower part and there's an arm the pretty much holds the whole differential. As you can notice the damage on one of the metal parts where it was grinding. please help! pics below

How Do I Install It..? Is It Better Just Get The Bushing Or The Whole Torque Arm?

its pretty simple. just put the new bushing in the spot of the old one. pretty hard to mess up.

Geez.. thats pretty bad when Autozone cant identify a Torque Arm, lol...

But then again, is the F-Body the only car to have a torque arm besides maybe th Y-Body??

Yeah, that is definitely you're torque arm bushing. The metal housing is fine, just get the rubber or poly bushing replacement from autozone/napa/advance/checkers/oreily/whatever store you have, or get the Energy Suspension replacement online. Easy change man, just make sure you grease it really good inside before you try to reinstall the torque arm in it, saves you time and squeaks.
