  • Anyone put stock SS shocks on V6 car?

I know that shocks from my '01 SS will fit on my '96 v6 car but does anyone know if the ride quality will be any good? I'm not sure how much different the spring rate is between an SS and a V6 car and how the shocks are matched up to the spring rate. Has anyone tried this? I'm getting new shocks for the SS and want to use the stock ones i'm taking off of it on my v6 car.

People do use V8 take-offs on V6 cars. Depending on how worn your SS shocks are there may or may not be an improvement in ride quality.

My SS does not have Bilstiens, just the DeCarbons. But they only have 36K miles on them. I want to use them to replace my worn out (original 137K mile) shocks on my '96 V6.
So you think they will work out OK and improve ride quality or would it stiffen up the ride too much?

It won't stiffen it up too much. The re-valved DeCarbons that were used on some years for the SS were an improvement over stock so I'd recomend putting them on if they are just sitting around, otherwise I would say builstiens are a better option.
