Hiya... I'm new to boards and am just starting to beef up my 2000 Camaro. The first thing I would like to tackle is the poor stock traction. Even with factory power, it's impossible for me to whip out in traffic without spinning the crap out of my poor right rear.
I have plans soon to install an Eibach pro kit, but was wondering what everyone else thought I could do to help while I'm under there tearing everything apart.
if you are getting it lowered you need to get soem lower control arm relocation brackets.
when you lower your car it puts the axel at a bad angle and you will get lots of wheel hop.
They work good for non-lowered cars too
Just as a little warning...lowering your car, especially lowering it without getting shocks matched to that height will actually lower your traction. Some things you can do to get more traction:
Depending on what kind of money you have, Sam Strano's revalved Bilsteins would work great for that. He can set them up for whatever ride height and spring constant you are running.
I think I'll look into those Blistiens. Judging by other posts I searched here, they seem to be well liked. During my searches, I see some folk say replace the LCA's and other say LCA relocation brackets. Which is the best route, or does one use them together in the system?
They go together. The relocation brackets are for a lowere car. This is because of the triangular suspension geometries of our cars. Lowering will cause your LCAs to sit at non-optimal angles for traction. The relo brackets will fix that angle.
So if you lower, get the relo brackets if you can. (I'm a hypocrite btw...I'm lowered without the brackets. 315s= teh traction)
The LCAs are the actual piece that extends from the axle to the chassis. They help keep the axle planted in place. Upgrading them will improve your traction whether you're lowered or not.
