Hawk HP or HPS brakes?

  • Hawk HP or HPS brakes?

    What are the pros and cons of each? I'm leaning toward the HP, my one concern with them is will they squeak? anyone use them?

    I run HPS. They grab nicely during daily use and I haven't had any problems with fad. Although I have never had them on a track if that is your intention. The one major downside is they dust a lot.

      Not sure if you are talking about Hawk's Pads, but if you are, they gave me a sh*tload of dust when I had them on my car back in '01. Great stopping power, but the dust was unreal!

        Hawk HP+ pads front / HPS pads rear is a great setup for stopping a 4th gen Camaro really quick (provided the tires are up to the job of course!) The HP+ do squeal when applied in daily driving coming to a stop, but that's the nature of them...they don't really squeal much on track when they are warmed up and at optimum temperature. HP+ dust like crazy, but they stop the car really well! HPS don't dust as much but still put a good amount of dust out. For street, autocross, or track sessions the HP+/HPS combo works really well.
