When you put the front shocks back together the insulator that looks like a dog biscuit, does that go on top of the shock mount then the nut goes on top of that, or does the insulator go under the shock mount? I ask this because one of the install manuals on line shows it on top of the mount and when looking at my parts CD for assembly it shows it on the under the shock mount. Let me know what you think? Re: Question about front shock install
Do you mean by putting the insulator on top of the mount, that you can see it from inside teh engine bay?
if so, then im pretty sure it goes under the shock mount...
i didnt install my front shocks, just my rear, and i guess im a little confused as to what you mean. Hopefully someone else will chime in with a better answer for you

part # 52 is the insulator, on that pick it goes the insulator , shock mount on top then the nut.

Re: Question about front shock install
Thought I would post an update, I took the shocks off again yesterday, I noticed there wasn't anything between the bottom of the shock mount and the top of the shock( where there should be a bump stop or something, KYB's didn't come with them) so I put a rubber bushing in between. So this is how it went back together, I put a washer on first, then the rubber bushing, the shock tower mount , then the insulator inside the shock mount. No more thumping sound when pushing on the front end. Also no more loose front end vibrations, rides outstanding. One more thing when puttting them back togehter you should have about an 1/2" of threads showing on the shocks mount with the nut on. And with an STB on you should have about 1/4" threads showing with the nut on. I suggest putting a jack under the arm once the assembly is alligned and jacking it up, then putting the nuts on and tighten them down. Then once on the floor with the wheels on , tighten them down again. Hope this helps with anyones install in the future.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: Question about front shock install
Just do the upper(easiest) and have a jack under the lower a-arm so you can watch your brake line, also the speed sensor line clip will probably break , no biggie though just zip tie it back up when your done with the install.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake
