Re: whats a good swaybar for me

From what I've learned over reading numerous topics here, if you have a stock setup on the rest of the suspension, then stay with the stock swaybars. It's dangerous to upgrade one piece and leave the rest alone.

I went with a larger 32mm front swaybar, but I'm upgrading to V8 springs, bilstein's, better bushings, and all new balljoints & tie rods this springtime. My rear swaybar is 19mm. It came with the V8 disk rear I bought, so I never changed it back to the stock size.

V6bob has some very controversial topics here (as do I)...to say the least, but he has very good reading material when it comes to suspension know-how. I try to read up on his topics when they aren't being spoken from the other end of his anatomy...no pun intended bob :)

well 30 is def. bigger than what you have now. i have a 32mm from a ls1 and i love it. but i have upgraded other areas of the suspension too, like hockeyman was saying. what is the guys price for the bar? its not a bad idea if you think about upgrading other suspension stuff later on, otherwise.. i would say leave it alone.

If you plan on new springs/shocks you could probably get away with the 32mm. I would wait to put it on though until you do anything else to your suspension. Many v8 guys buy 35mm fronts and sell their stock ones so if you pass up this deal, you'll most likely still find one for a decent price on ebay in the future.

:omg: 28/21 is a very dangerous combination!!

              A rear 21mm needs at least a 32mm front, if not a 35mm!

                    Then he's an idiot.

If you have factory sway bars, you have 28/15 if 98+ V6, or 30/17 if 93-97 V6.

Yes. I think its fairly universially agreed upon that a bigger front sway bar is better.... ... maybe

(is it me or is there really no correct answer to the question: What sway bar should i get? ... Kind of annoying)

Why did they switch to smaller sway bars in the later years? I thought bigger was better (to an extent and properly matched)

Because they increased the front and rear spring rates for the 98+.

Remember, the suspension is a SYSTEM - shocks, springs, sway bars, even tires, all working together.
